Dewey Beach Bar Golf is in
it's 16th year this year. This is an annual event and a Dewey
Beach Tradition. There will be approximately 500 participants
wearing an outrageous T-shirts armed with Sharpies terrorizing
the town. This event is a "Must Do" for anyone who comes to
Dewey Beach. Our goal this year is to make this the largest Bar
Golf Event in Dewey History. This year, Bar Golf will be held on
August 23, 2008. REGISTRATION CUT-OFF IS AUGUST 18TH!
Proceeds will benefit Miles for Melanoma of Delaware.
On Saturday, 12/21/07 Dom's Pizza & Steaks and Miles for Melanoma teamed up to FIGHT melanoma! With donations and partial proceeds from the day's event, Miles for Melanoma raised close to $700 and more importantly brought awareness to the cause! Strike Out Melanoma -
We had two bowling events at the Brunswick Blue Hen Bowling Lanes at Newark Shopping Center and raised over $2300! Brunswick Blue Hen has offered to do this again, so look for more bowling events in the future. For more info on Newark Bowling, go to www.bowlbrunswick.com.
Friendly's Fundraiser
Friendly's in Middletown donated a percentage of all proceeds for sales on February 27 between 5 and 9 PM. Everyone had some good food, ice cream and fun. Between proceeds, donations, and sales of melanoma tokens, we raised $435!
Red Robin Fundraiser
Red Robin, at People's Plaza on Route 40 also donated a percentage of all proceeds for diners on March 5, between 5 and 8 PM. Everyone knows Red Robin makes the best burgers, and they definitely had a full house for the Miles for Melanoma benefit!
Black and White Benefit, Luau & Golf Outing
The Black and White Benefit dinner and silent auction was held at Klondike Kate's on May 15th. Afterwards, Klondike's hosted a luau in the main bar. On May 19, Klondike's held their annual golf outing, donating a portion of the proceeds to Miles for Melanoma of Delaware.
Zingo's Supermarket in Pike Creek, known for
giving back to their community, is a huge
supporter of Miles for Melanoma of Delaware.
Allowing committee members to build awareness of
melanoma outside their store, Zingo's has helped
us fight for a cure!
Tastefully
Simple Party - Kimberly held a party for us in December and
collected many orders through the month. She is
continuing her program and will continue to make donations to
Miles for Melanoma of Delaware.
Creative Memories
- This was a scrap booking party, held at Anna's house.
Folks who came got to learn about scrap booking and purchase
supplies - as well as enjoy a little social interaction! A
portion of the proceeds are being donated to our cause.
NYC Bus Trip - 42 folks
traveled to New York for the day on Saturday, April 26.
Buses were provided as a donation by THG Transport so all
proceeds were donated to our fund. Everybody had a great
time - and folks are looking forward to the next trip!
American Girl
Doll Trip - We took a busload of folks to New York, dropping
off at the American Girl store there, and providing details for
enjoyment of American Doll programs, including lunch, Circle of
Friends and afternoon tea. All proceeds from the bus fees
were donated to the Miles for Melanoma of Delaware cause.
Southern Living at Home Show -
Michelle Kauffman, a Southern Living sales consultant, is
working with Miles for Melanoma of Delaware to raise money
for our cause. She recently hosted a show and took
orders, and is providing a portion of the proceeds to M4M of DE.
